The Healthy Boundaries Worksheet includes three main categories of boundaries: personal, property and safety. Each of these categories has its subcategory, and each subcategory has a checkbox next to it.

Your boundaries include who you are allowed to be with, what you are allowed to watch and who you are allowed to interact with outside of the home. You may not be able to help or protect your child from certain situations, however, you are allowed to seek professional help or assistance when necessary. This includes only interacting with children on your terms, and for an age-appropriate time.

Property boundaries would include the home, clothing, possessions, and the property that belongs to you. It would also include any financial property, like cars, boats, and other property. If you allow your children to spend time outside of the home they would be considered to be property, which you would be responsible for.

Safety boundaries would include your children’s toys, living space, vehicles, and health care. Again, if you feel your children are a threat to yourself or others, the condition or treatment of their environment would determine what safety boundaries would apply. You could create a rule or set of guidelines that your children are allowed to play on and use.
