Verbs Worksheets for Grade 1

The “worksheet” helps prepare children for Kindergarten by giving them a one-on-one assessment of their skills, abilities and learning needs. The worksheet provides an opportunity for children to see their strengths and weaknesses and helps the teacher and parents to tailor lessons around their abilities.

Most Grade One children will be quite capable of spelling, counting, sorting and reading. They may also be able to pick up basic math skills. But there are others who will struggle with these skills, while others may seem to have natural abilities. Teachers and parents may find that even with a good grade for their child, they still have deficiencies in some areas that need to be addressed in their education.

Grades will always fall short of the true talent of students, especially in Grade One. This is when most students become bored and dissatisfied with school. Their weaknesses begin to show, which leads to feelings of inadequacy and unhappiness. To combat this, teachers and parents can encourage and support their students through very early on in their education by developing very effective worksheets for grade one. In this way, the children will not only get a better grade, but they will also feel as though they are on the right track towards their dream education.

A worksheet for grade one can provide a list of strengths, problems and needs for children. Students will be asked to identify the areas where they excel and the areas where they need extra help. The focus of the worksheet will be on what the student is good at, as opposed to what they are lacking in their own area of expertise. By focusing on weaknesses rather than strengths, it will be easier for the teacher to address those weaknesses and not just the strengths. This is a much more constructive way of working with children as well as a better overall foundation for each child.

Every child learns differently. And the way that you teach them can differ from one child to another. And so, when you are able to identify what the child is good at and help them succeed in their own area of expertise, it will show in their abilities at school and help them in their future development.

While there are those students who are excellent at something, they may not be as interested in that thing and that is why the grades may not necessarily reflect their true talents. The same can be said for students who do not take after themselves in their classroom work. These students will always be struggling in the subject matter that they are most interested in. There is no need to let these things fester inside of the classroom because there are teachers who can help them work through their problems.
