A good, old-fashioned worksheet is the answer key for Special Right Triangles. These puzzles are certainly not complex but they are not something you can do in a few minutes either. You really need to be attentive when solving them. If you neglect to check off what you have done, you will have to start all over again.
The method of solving these puzzles is to first decide where you want the triangles to stand. In this case we will place the three white arrows in the place where we want the triangles to be placed. With the help of the three colored squares we have to decide how many of the four triangles we need to construct and how many we need to place in the proper place.
Next we will use the special right triangle rule to decide how many of the white arrows are used to cross the black arrows that we already have placed on the piece of paper. We have to work the same way as we did to cross the arrows that were used to cross the white arrows. For the squares we will use the rest of the arrows to cross the colored squares so that it appears like we did not cross the arrows.
Once we have the triangles on the board and we have completed the triangulation method, it is time to check to see if the complete puzzle is complete. If there are any missing pieces or incorrect placements, it is now time to re-check that the answer key has been completed correctly.
One last method to check for completeness is to check whether or not the resulting triangular arrangement is formed by making sure that the sides of the triangle are the same length. If not then you will need to try again.
Here is another method which I believe works well. This one is for a triangle that is three colors long.
In this method you use the triangle you created and replace the triangle that it was once made up of. I know this seems like a strange method, but it is one of the best methods for placing the three black diagonal squares in the correct position. When replacing the triangle, you must use the triangle that was once made from the triangle you made before and then again use the triangle that was made before and replace it with the triangle that is being replaced. Now you see why this method works.
The final method is a great way to go. I know I did not like to check things off correctly at first but after trying this method I am now able to complete the puzzle quite easily and without any help at all.
