When I was a little girl I used to pass my days reading Catholic worksheets on the Reformation. Some of these workbooks were difficult to read, but all of them made me think about what I had learned.
Catholic studies has definitely changed over the last century. In today’s world we are seeing more Protestants becoming Catholics. These studies have resulted in even more separation between the two traditions.
The reason that this is important is that the Reformation is a turning point for many people. Because the Reformation started as a way for the Catholic Church to come to terms with their sins, people want to know more about what happened. For those who do not believe that we were wrong in our way of life, the Reformation has the power to make them doubt their own beliefs. After all, did the church really start the Reformation?
We can get into all of this detail, but we must remember that for many of us, this is a bad thing. Many who read the Catholic worksheets will be more receptive to Catholic teaching if they find out more about the Reformation. After all, the Reformation started the Catholic Study Movement which has resulted in a lot of people becoming Catholic.
This worksheet will be used as a study guide to help students understand the Reformation. They will see that the Reformation is a topic that has been studied by Catholic scholars for many years. What they will see is how interesting the subject is and how much there is to learn about the Reformation from a Catholic perspective.
This worksheet can also be used as a teaching tool for new students, as well as students who have been studying the Reformation for a while and need some encouragement to get them started. Knowing what we do about the Reformation will be helpful for them to gain a better understanding of what the Reformation means to Catholics.
When they do read the Catechism of the Catholic Church, they will also see a link to this worksheet as a way to get the information they need. They can continue to learn what the Reformation has to say about the four points of Calvinism, by using this worksheet.
Using this worksheet will motivate students to move forward with their study of the Catechism and the whole movement in the history of the Catholic Church. In time, when the students are prepared to move on to more advanced courses in the history of the Catholic faith, they will have learned the material needed to help them understand the Reformation and why Catholics are Protestants.
