You have been invited to speak at a class that consists of students with varying levels of knowledge about wolves in Yellowstone. Most likely, these students will have read your book, however you don’t want them to be unfamiliar with the information contained within it. With that in mind, you need to create a number of worksheets to help the students quickly become familiar with all of the information that they will be presented with.
A wolf pack consists of pups, mothers, and members of the pack. You need to provide each of the members of the class with a worksheet that answers the following questions. Questions such as, “Who is the alpha male of the pack?” And “Which members of the pack are most likely to attack humans?”
Once you have answered these questions for each student, you will want to provide them with an answer sheet for the entire class. The answers to the questions in the worksheet will need to be different for each class. They will be more than enough to teach the students about the wolf pack and its pups. You can also include trivia on each individual pups as well as a listing of the pups’ characteristics and behavioral patterns.
If you know the physical features of each of the pups you will also want to have a worksheet with that information. It is also a good idea to have a section that provides information on the mother. You should have a worksheet to write the social hierarchies in the pack as well as what the pups call their mom.
Finally, you will want to address how the pups interact with humans as well as their new behaviors. You may want to provide a worksheet for a question about how a pup’s different behavior can potentially lead to conflict with a wolf or vice versa. You can also give a worksheet to your students to see if they would use proper animal communication when defending themselves from other wolves in the pack.
By creating answers to all the questions about the wolf pack, you will end up with numerous worksheets. This allows you to use them throughout the duration of the class. These worksheets will make it easy for the students to quickly get an overview of what is covered within the class. With this information they will be able to answer the rest of the questions on their own without any prompting from you.
Although most of the information that you will cover about wolves in Yellowstone will not be new to your students, they will need a refresher course on the subject after they have gone through the lessons. As you may know, a refresher course on a subject can make you look like an expert in that subject. The same holds true for the information that you will cover about wolves in Yellowstone.
Utilizing student worksheet answers can really help you keep your message brief and simple so that the students can understand it easily. It will also help to keep you focused on your message at all times.
