Guided Reading Activity 2 – 2 1-Economic Systems Worksheet Answers is a worksheet created to give students a framework to build upon and create their own economic system. This guide worksheet was created to give students a detailed study on all three components of the economic system, money, people, and resources.

Before we go any further, I would like to tell you that the economic systems worksheet is designed to take away the guesswork and allow students to have an actual system in which to build upon. We’ve all seen those storybooks where parents, students, and teachers use a wooden board to create a wood-type structure. Now, let’s take that same wooden board and break it down into small pieces, small enough that students can then make their own wooden structure out of these pieces. Although it is not that much different than that wooden board, what makes this unique is the tools used.

Guided Reading Activity 2 provides students with the same tools that we used in that wooden building, but they have a much easier time with this one. After you have filled out the survey, you can simply create a two sided grid on one side and a one sided grid on the other side. Both sides should be labeled A through H. Students are encouraged to fill out each A through H grid as fully as possible so they can use the grid to determine if they agree or disagree with the provided system.

The A’s are questions that relate to the economic system and the questions associated with the B’s are the “what if’s.” Here are some examples of what it might look like:

What if the economy had more people and less people? What if there were fewer resources available? What if people worked longer hours? Once students have filled out their cells, they can then submit their answers as well as the “what if” questions in the correct numerical order by putting numbers one through four first, then doing the same for number five, and so on.

Here are some sample questions but please remember, there are no wrong answers when it comes to this economic system. However, as you may notice, the authors of this guide work sheet did not limit themselves to offering students a handful of limited choices.

In fact, if you wanted to, you could fill out a survey for all three questions, give them numbers, then fill out a survey for the economic system as a whole. You will find that they do this with all students.

Students should be encouraged to take this Guided Reading Activity 2-Economic System Worksheet Survey and help the authors of this guide to build upon it. By helping to make the most of this guide, students can get a feel for the economic system, and then with other learning materials, teach others how to utilize the economic system.
