It is my opinion that the Constitution of the United States is a work in progress. On the other hand, I also believe that some of the Constitutional Compromises worksheets have to be incorporated into the books that I make and distribute to my students.
For example, I will not allow my Cincinnati School Board to consider cutting funds to Planned Parenthood, even though Planned Parenthood does a great deal for our community by helping poor women and men that do not have access to health care. The Federalist Papers says that such a vote would be constitutional. That is the Constitutional Compromise Worksheet in action.
I cannot allow a Cincinnati School Board to use some of the money to fund “Blue Wave” politics. I can certainly think of a Constitutional Compromise Worksheet that says that just because “Blue Wave” means more government power, it does not mean that this is not a power grab. Does it?
Even though I am a former prosecutor, I will not allow my colleagues on the Cincinnati School Board to cut all funding to the Chicago School System that has over a billion dollars that is currently allocated to our area and that we never get. I have a constitutional Worksheet to use on these types of issues. In fact, one was recently used by the Dayton, Ohio City Council when they voted to redirect a portion of money that had been previously provided by the federal government to other purposes.
I do not believe in electing leaders in the streets because the people’s elected representatives are our local police officers, the Cincinnati School Board, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Federalist Papers suggest that we elect them by the majority. That is a constitutional Worksheet in action, not only that we do not have the right to dictate how they are elected, but that the leaders are already in place, that is the constitution. So, no street protests or “street generals” here.
I do not believe that the Cincinnati School Board should be in charge of the release of the money allocated to the projects that our students need. Again, the Federalist Papers proposes that we elect them by the majority. Therefore, we do not have the right to dictate the release of money that goes to schools, which is why we are holding elections here.
I do not believe that schools have a right to cut more than two teachers because the Cincinnati School Board believes that it needs more than two teachers. Again, the Federalist Papers suggests that we elect them by the majority. Therefore, the officers that we are elected by the majority.
In order to be successful in using the Constitutional Compacts Worksheet, I need to share this information with my students. It might be a bit controversial to tell a class about what the Constitution tells us to do and yet I think that it will be very educational.
