What is Glencoe Geometry? We’ve all heard the standard definitions of algebra, geometry and trigonometry, but what is it exactly that they all have in common? These three different types of math can be combined together to form a whole new way of thinking about math.
Geometry is actually the most overlooked subject. It’s the “old” type of math that’s only just starting to catch up with the modern world. Geometry involves using measurement to help us understand shapes, lines and angles. In this aspect, we can then use these measurements and information to further understand the rest of the concepts.
For example, we might think that just because we are using lines and angles, and tracing out the areas of shapes, we’re done and can leave it at that. But, this is not true. In fact, when we learn the rules and theories behind the different equations used to solve problems in geometry, it opens up an entirely new world of possibilities for us.
This can lead to a whole new way of thinking about different math skills we may be lacking. We can use math to improve our communication skills and learn a little about self-confidence. We can learn a few new words for geometry equations and even get some idea of how other people do things.
So, is Glencoe geometry is just another book with different types of math? Not exactly. In this book, you will find the same kinds of concepts that you would learn at school, plus a couple extra math strategies that can really help you when you’re faced with math problems. It also includes an excellent review of important math tools, like multiplication tables and graphing calculators.
Glencoe Geometry, by the way, uses both traditional algebra and graph theory. Some students will be struggling with graph theory, so the authors have included many ways to help them. It is important to remember, however, that this book is meant to be used as an additional resource, not just as a replacement for your regular school algebra book.
If you find it too advanced for your grade level and are still interested in learning more, you may want to continue working on your algebra and math with this book. Just keep in mind that it will give you a deeper understanding of the theory than what you would get from just one book alone.
Glencoe Geometry by Glen Allman, Jr. is sure to provide you with the foundation you need to continue on your path to success. A little extra knowledge will go a long way toward helping you improve your own skill set and even give you an edge over other students who might be struggling with the theory and concepts.
